Kelly Summerell's story begins with a profound love for the Costa del Sol. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Kelly moved to this part of Spain in 1991 with her parents at 6. After finishing school in Spain, Kelly worked in the real estate world and hasn't looked back since.

The Birth of Mediterranean Homes

Having worked for almost ten years for a local estate agent in Alhaurin El Grande. 2019, Kelly took the plunge and founded Mediterranean Homes with her brother Tyler. Her mission was clear: to provide a personalised, client-centric approach to real estate that would surpass all expectations.

One such charity close to Kelly's heart is ARCH (Centro Andalusí de Rescate de Caballos); their mission is simple: the charity rescues and rehabilitates, re-homes abandoned, abused, and neglected equines. Mediterranean Homes continues to support and sponsor this charity.

Pawsawhile Dog Rescue
As Kelly owns two dogs, she's proud to have sponsored Pawsawhile Dog Rescue, a small dog rescue in Coin,  run entirely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations.

Life-saving AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)

Kelly recently took the lead in a life-saving initiative to install defibrillators in the community through her "Touch of Kindness" campaign, which involves putting back into the community where she lives and works.

She said: "I've decided to sponsor and install AEDs along with full training in CPR for up to five people in local buildings in the towns and villages where we work. She primarily looks for areas with high foot traffic to help save lives, as she believes that taking this initiative will inspire other businesses and individuals throughout the region to do the same.

Kelly, together with her office manager Eva, organised training sessions at the Colegio Nuestra Senora de Lourdes in the Malaga town of Coin earlier this year to teach five members of the staff how to use a defibrillator (AED), which Mediterranean Homes had purchased and had installed at the school the same week. Kelly explained that the school, Colegio Nuestra Senora de Lourdes, was chosen because it is very close to her and her brother Tyler, as they both attended the school as children.

When asked if she intended to donate more life-saving AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) to the community, she said, "Yes, of course." We have two sites in mind in Coin, all of which will be revealed in October. "Watch this space"!

"If anyone is interested in assisting us on our mission, we are currently compiling a list of professionals who can help train others in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation/chest compressions) and how to use an automated external defibrillator," she added.
