How long have you lived on the Costa del Sol?
We moved to Spain 18 months ago, coming from Luxembourg/Germany.
What made you choose the Costa del Sol as a place to live?
Both of us were here, years ago, separately on holiday in this region. When it became clear that for health reasons, we had to choose a warm and less humid country (compared to Luxembourg and Germany), for both it was obvious that this would be the South of Spain.
We came to Malaga and wandered around until we discovered the Alhaurin el Grande and Coín area, with its hills, white villages and lovely people.
What’s the best thing about living on the Costa del Sol in your opinion?
First of all the weather, but as well the food, the quality of vegetables and fruit.
We live where others go on holiday. Life quality is much better here. People seem to be more satisfied and happier.
On top the area is perfect, you can do whatever activity you want within a couple of hours drive, and so many options to do so.
Give us a brief description of what you get up to on your usual working day.
I am a freelance consultant for all legal corporate matters and specialized in oversight of delegates, third party service providers, investors. As well as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). Currently I am setting up my consulting company.
How do you enjoy spending your weekends and free time?
I love gardening, so this takes a lot of my free time. As well we have a bunch of cats which we love observing how they play and run in our little paradise. This year, we rescued from the rubbish bin 9 kittens and an a torty that lost all her babies. We wanted to give them in responsible adoption (many here just give kittens for free without even bothering to whom and for what purpose). We kept them in the end due to lack of interested people. Foster fail you could say.
If you could change jobs with anyone for the day, who would it be and why?
I would definitely swap for a day with Kelly!
My childhood dream however was to become a helicopter pilot.
What’s your favourite food?
That is a hard one, I love all kinds of food. I have a preference for fish, shrimp, homemade pasta and a good glass of wine.
Describe what your perfect home on the Costa del Sol would be like and where it would be.
We found it in the countryside of Tolox, on top of a hill with beautiful views, a big garden, a swimming pool. The house could be a little bigger for when we have family and friends visiting us. We've moved many times; I'd have no problem doing it again somewhere else in this area. However, the house must have a large garden and be in a quiet location.
If you were to appear on “Come Dine with Me”, what theme would you choose?
I don’t know the show, but I would choose the crazy 1920’s Charleston years.
Who would be your perfect dinner guest?
The Mahatma Gandhi.
